If a payment is missed or a draft comes back

Read this before you authorize a draft you are not sure about, not after. It says what happens, what it costs according to the published schedule, and the one route that stops it becoming a pattern.

If this month is the problem, start here

The hardship request shows you the cost consequence of each option before you accept one, and asking is not held against you. It works best before the date, and it still works after it.

The process

What happens when a draft fails

Four steps, none of them a surprise.

  1. The draft comes back

Your bank or card issuer refuses it — not enough in the account, a card that expired, a block on the account. We find out the same way you do: after the fact.

  2. We tell you, in writing

A message to the email on your account says which payment it was, the amount, and what you can do about it. We do not try the draft again without telling you first.

  3. You choose how to catch it up

Pay another way from your account, move the date if the schedule allows it, or — if this month is the problem and not just this Tuesday — start a hardship request before it becomes a pattern.

  4. The agreement continues

The fee and the interest keep accruing on the balance the way they always did. One failed draft does not, on its own, change your rate, your term or your schedule.

Required disclosure:

We tell you a draft failed

1 business day. In writing, to the email on your account, before anything is tried again. This is our own published standard, not a statutory right: Our published servicing standard.

The published fee schedule

An arranging fee for each month the agreement runs, charged by Dollar Loans LLC, plus interest for the whole term, charged by S2 Funding LLC, both worked out on the amount advanced. Each is shown in dollars before you sign.

The published fee schedule has two lines — the Credit Access Business fee charged by Dollar Loans LLC and the interest charged by S2 Funding LLC — and no third line. There is no late charge on it. What a missed payment costs is what the agreement already charges — the fee and the interest keep running on the balance until it is paid — and nothing on top that is not on the schedule.

Your agreement sets out the date each payment is due and what happens if it is not made by then. We have not published a separate grace period, and we will not imply one here.

The whole schedule, both lines, is on the fee schedule page.

Our side

What we will not do

  • We will not re-run a failed draft without telling you first.

A second surprise draft is how one bounced payment turns into three bank charges. You hear from us before we try again.

  • We will not add a charge the published schedule does not carry.

The two-line schedule is a published guarantee. A late fee that appears only when you are late is exactly the kind of line it rules out.

  • Telling us early is never held against you.

A hardship request is not a default and is not treated as one. It is the thing that exists to stop the default.

What we report

Required disclosure:

What we have and have not published

We have not published which consumer reporting agencies this agreement is furnished to, and this page does not guess. What we can say is what any furnisher can: what gets reported is what happened to the account, and a request for help is not something that happened to the account.

Fee structure
An arranging fee for each month the agreement runs, charged by Dollar Loans LLC, plus interest for the whole term, charged by S2 Funding LLC, both worked out on the amount advanced. Each is shown in dollars before you sign.
Annual percentage rate
The annual percentage rate counts our fee and S2 Funding LLC's interest as one yearly figure, worked out by the actuarial method Regulation Z sets out. Until our way of calculating it has been checked, this site prints the dollar figures and leaves the rate out. S2 Funding LLC's interest on its own is not the cost of this agreement.
Your right to cancel
You may cancel by midnight of the third calendar day after you sign, at no cost. You return the amount advanced and owe nothing further.
Paying early
There is no prepayment penalty.
